Until lines are being written, there were hundreds of casualties and thousands of refugees from the three regional disaster. Among the thousands of refugees, we found many children who suffered great loss in their lives.
Many studies say that a sense of security and sustainable relationships with people who loved the main requirement for each child. Playing, as a manifestation of a sense of security and an ongoing relationship, then plays an important role for the development of every child.
Wherever children are, including in the refugee area, play will always be one of their needs. For that, maybe it’s time we started to prepare the form of additional assistance, assistance that will help them to return to play, share joy, and may help eliminate some of the bitter memories exist.
Tick Tock Build a prototype board game is the work of a young Indonesian designer: Pritchard Arianti Raditiarini (Fine Arts and Design ITB).
Board games are a wonderful creative work. With a little modification and assistance in the production process, the author believes this creative work can become an effective medium for supporting the implementation of trauma healing programs for disaster victims, especially those who are still children.
Taking the theme of working together to build a house, boardgame will be interesting to be played by anyone, from children to adults.
In this board game each player will be equipped with a short stick which then becomes an extension of their hands. The players then sued cooperate with each other (the team) to build one house or two houses (for advanced version).
At the beginning of the game each team will open a card containing detailed drawings of the components of the house which had been prepared, roof color, the color of window, door color, composition and position them. After trying to remember, this card is then closed again.
Within 5 minutes of each team member should work together to build homes according to what is depicted on the card. With the theme, mechanisms, and simple components sure the writer of this board game will be able to build excitement and tear down the existing little grief.
Board games certainly not the only media that can be utilized. There are many other media options that we can optimize to provide maximum benefit for the recovery / therapy bencara victims.
Through this brief review author only intended to share a simple idea, that board games can be more than just a mere game media. With proper utilization, board games can be a single share media with tremendous potential
